Our service monkeys are provided at no cost to our recipients.
Volunteer & Job Opportunities
Since 1979, Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled, Inc. has been helping adults with spinal cord injuries and other mobility impairments throughout the U.S. live more independent and engaged lives. We do this by providing them, free of charge, with a unique service animal: a highly trained service monkey to help with their daily tasks.
Helping Hands is always looking for talented people to join our Board of Directors. In particular, individuals with finance, fundraising, legal, communications/media, real estate/development, rehabilitation medicine, or veterinary background/experience are sought. If interested, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Helping Hands offers a volunteer program for individuals sixteen years and older. Volunteers assist with the husbandry needs and diet preparation for our monkeys and do not have the opportunity to handle or train the monkeys.
Interns will gain skills and knowledge of the development field and non-profit management. They will work directly with the Director of Development and Communication and the Development and Communication Associate and will be instrumental in helping us reach our fundraising goals. This is a great opportunity to advance skills in a variety of work areas.
