Helping Hands monkey helpers are trained and placed to assist individuals with daily in-home activities. While the majority of our clients live with a spinal cord injury, there are other people with injuries or illnesses that can benefit from the unique skills of our service animals.

Information for Healthcare Professionals
As a healthcare professional, you have a variety of post-injury/post-diagnosis care options and treatments available to your patients living with spinal cord injury and other mobility impairments. These options include the addition of a service animal to help them achieve greater independence with activities of daily living.
We have been placing monkey helpers with appropriate recipients since 1979. While we do maintain ownership of our monkeys throughout their lives, many of them spend a decade or more with their recipients. Their relationships are unique, remarkable, and life-changing.
