Planned Giving

Planned Gifts are an important part of our organization. Since 1979, many projects and advances to the program have been accomplished because caring individuals made provisions for our organization in their wills to ensure people would always have the option of turning to us when seeking enhanced independence.

Leaving a gift in your will is an easy way to give back and still make sure you’re able to provide for yourself and your family throughout retirement.

The Simian Society recognizes donors who have chosen to leave a gift to our organization in their will. Your decision to make a donation as part of your estate plans provides a legacy for the work we do every day. Simian Society members receive special communications from us throughout the year and are invited to a special luncheon and tour.

If you have already included us in your will–or are interested in learning more about making a gift–we’d like to make sure you are recognized as a Simian Society member. Please contact us via email or at 617-787-4419 so that we may officially welcome you into the Simian Society.

If you are writing or updating your will:

Remembering Envisioning Access, formerly Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled, Inc., in your will or trust is easy to do. Simply provide a specific dollar amount. You may also designate our organization to receive a specified percentage of your estate assets. The following is some sample language that you may use to remember us in your will or trust:

I give and bequeath to Envisioning Access, 541 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA 02134 the sum of $___ (or specific asset or ___ percent of the remainder of my estate) to be used for its general charitable purposes.

If you have Retirement Funds:

Did you know that you can support Envisioning Access’ important mission by naming Envisioning Access as the partial or sole beneficiary of your IRA, 401(K), 403(B), or other retirement assets?

Why use retirement assets to make a gift?

Since retirement plan assets may be subject to both income and estate taxes if left to heirs, estate planners often recommend that you designate all or a portion of the assets to a charitable organization such as Envisioning Access. By leaving such assets to our organization, you can pass other assets to your heirs which may lower the tax burden. Please speak to your accountant or lawyers for specific advice about your situation.
